About the Producer
The Grifalco winery was founded in Venosa in 2004. The idea of producing Grifalco wines was born from the minds of Cecilia and Fabrizio when they glimpsed the ideal territory on the slopes of Monte Vulture in which to create, together with their children Lorenzo and Andrea, a new reality. The name “Grifalco” is a tribute to the family’s past and present. It combines the griffin, the symbol of the Piccin’s original home of Montepulciano in Tuscany, and the falcon, symbol of Monte Vulture, their adopted home.
After twenty years of experience in the Tuscan Montepulciano, the Piccin family transferred their wine knowledge to Basilicata to dedicate themselves to the production of an ancient wine: Aglianico del Vulture
Every day, the vineyards, located on completely different terrain from each other, are cared for with the aim of protecting and enhancing their different expressions. Together with the grapes, they cultivate the values of quality and respect, especially towards nature and the environment.
